EMOTIONS
Emotion – another form of energy. The natural cycle for energy is to move and flow or it stagnates.
When emotion is not allowed to move through you freely it begins to build up. Over time this build up can create emotional struggle and potentially physical pain. Too many people try to avoid or deny negative emotions. When you try to push negative feelings away, they last longer because you are not acknowledging how you feel. You may believe “If I ignore it, it will go away”……. it won’t. Allow yourself to actually ‘feel’ the emotion and let it move through you……. feeling is healthy. By pushing it away you are denying that part of you. Positive emotions and experiences are wonderful and that is what you try to hold on to. When you believe you have to hold on to something, it means you feel there is a scarcity. So on one hand you try and push the negative away and on the other you try and hold onto the positive when in actual fact you are stopping the energy that is innately designed to move.
Sometimes these emotions have been stored and pushed down over so many years, you have consciously forgotten about them, the body hasn’t. Kinesiology can help in finding these deep seated emotions and allow you to release them in a safe, nurturing, non-judging environment.
In order to reach your highest potential and find success in any aspect of your life action is required. Emotions… feelings… thoughts – these are the driving force behind whether action is being taken or not. Everything you do is determined almost entirely by how you want to feel. As Freud once said, we seek pleasure and avoid pain.
Addiction to such things as drugs, coffee, alcohol, cigarettes and sex are all tranquilisers to alter the way you feel. You can also be addicted to an emotion. Using ‘guilt’ as an example, whenever you feel guilt a chemical reaction occurs within the body. If you are addicted to the way this chemical reaction makes you feel, you will do things throughout your life to make you feel guilty.
You may purchase a 4WD vehicle to give you that feeling of power. Your next door neighbour may purchase a brand new computer to achieve the very same feeling. We all tend to link feelings to things.
If these emotions are of a self destructive nature and you become attached to so many ‘things’ just to be able to gain that feeling, life can become one constant struggle – and you may not even know why.

Anger
Anger usually stems from not getting what you want which can lead to frustration, resentment, bitterness towards yourself, others and life. Sometimes anger can come out of impatience and not accepting how things are in the present.
Depression
Depression can be a form of anger that has turned inward……. you internalise the pain or difficultly of not being where you want to be, achieving things or just generally being happy. Such internalised pain can create self loathing, self hatred, spiralling down your self worth, confidence and self esteem.
Grief
Grief is sadness and sorrow related to loss……… loss of a loved one, a friend, a pet, a job, moving town, moving schools.
Guilt
Guilt is about blaming self. It is when you take on the responsibility or burden for something that wasn’t your fault. Guilt can also appear if you believe you don’t deserve ‘good’ things, so you feel guilty for having them. The guilt can become so strong you then sabotage the good which takes you back to the limit of worth you have placed on yourself.
Fear
Take the initials of FEAR and think about it this way – False Evidence Appearing Real. Think about all the decisions you have made in the last day or so and ask yourself why you made those decisions. You will discover that most of them were made out of a mixture of fear and doubt. Thoughts such as, “I can’t do that. What will other people say? What will my friends think of me? I am not smart enough.” How many beautiful heartfelt wishes have been crushed by fear? How many times has society’s harsh voice of disapproval cast a shadow on your dreams? Now it is time to break free of those false beliefs and realise your dreams. Fear stops you from being who you truly are.
When you are true to yourself, you allow yourself to experience love, joy, happiness and passion.
Anxiety
Anxiety is a very common emotion in our fast paced world where everything is so rushed. How much time and energy do you spend worrying about what might happen? Or planning your day down to the most miniscule detail so nothing goes wrong, and than have a plan B,C and D… just in case. Anxiety will take over your entire life and suck the joy out of it if you let it, and the scariest part is that you won’t even realise it’s happening.
Anxiety creates nervousness and restlessness. Through anxiety and fear the adrenals may be running overtime and this can sometimes lead to Adrenal Fatigue.

Blame
It is so easy to blame someone or something for the things that go wrong or the way things are in your life. The reality is that no-one can make you do or feel anything. Offence can never be taken, it is only ever given. Comments or thoughts such as, “He/She hurt me. They make me so angry! If he/she hadn’t of done that, I would be okay,” these are your reactions to what has been said or done. If that particular issue isn’t a problem within your energy then there will be no reaction. By taking responsibility for your own emotions and making your own choices, you empower yourself.
Any of the so called ‘negative’ emotions create havoc and dis-ease in your life. This dis-ease is often then transpired onto the physical body. Think about this for a moment – if you are in a constant state of anxiety, fear or blame (just to name 3) how is your body feeling?
Imagine the cells, the chemical reactions and the organs all fighting to do the best they can to adjust and keep you alive and functioning in this state. Do you think that over time, your physical body will run out of energy? Do you think this could create illness to make you stop and look at what is going on?
